How to Stay Safe Online
Digital safety is everyone's responsibility. Here are practical steps for parents, educators, and young people to stay protected online.
👨👩👧 For Parents
Use parental controls on all devices. Have open, age-appropriate conversations about online safety regularly.
🔒 Protect Privacy
Never share personal details, photos, or location online. Teach children that once shared, images can't be taken back.
🚩 Recognise Red Flags
Watch for adults who ask for secrecy, send gifts, or push children to meet in person. This is grooming behaviour.
📱 Safe Devices
Keep devices in common areas. Review apps and friend lists regularly. Know who your child is talking to online.
🗣️ Speak Up
Create a safe environment where children know they can tell a trusted adult without fear of blame or punishment.
📚 For Educators
Integrate digital literacy into your curriculum. Know your school's safeguarding policy and reporting procedures.
