A Year of Open Doors and God's Promises Fulfilled
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Today, we stand in awe and gratitude as we celebrate a significant milestone in the journey of Daybreak Baby House. It has been one year since our doors swung open, welcoming the first precious baby in need of a safe and loving home. As we reflect on the past 365 days, we are reminded not only of the goodness of people but also of the promises of God that have been faithfully fulfilled.
The inaugural year of Daybreak Baby House has been a testament to the power of love, compassion, and community. We marked this special occasion with a heartfelt celebration, surrounded by the unwavering support of individuals and organisations who have embraced our mission with open arms. We are grateful to Marlene and Thinus Greyling, who are the parents of Daybreak House and look after these babies like their own.
Our anniversary festivities were made even more memorable with the generous contributions of Pure Cafe, whose catering filled our hearts and bellies with delicious delights, and the uplifting melodies of the Pretoria Boys High Dixie Band, whose live music echoed the joy within our walls.
One cannot overlook the breathtaking beauty of our Daybreak House garden, adorned with magnificent sculptures generously provided by Anton Smit Sculptures.
Yet, amidst the celebrations and festivities, it is the people who have truly kept the doors of Daybreak House open wide. Our dedicated volunteers, whose unwavering commitment and diverse talents enrich the lives of our precious babies every day, deserve our deepest gratitude. From hairdressers to engineers, their selfless contributions know no bounds. Prestige schools like WHPS, Menlopark Hoerskool, Laerskool Pretoria Oos and PBHS got involved and made a difference.
Don’t forget our Comerades runners; Ig, Renier and Kobus. They are raising funds for Daybreak house!
We are also immensely grateful to our sponsors and partners who have stood by our side, providing invaluable support and resources to ensure the success of our mission. Companies who visited daybreak House during the year and contributed in raising funds and awareness. Thank you.
Success Stories during 2023:
Baby E
Placed at Daybreak severely ill. We nursed him back to health with 24/7 care. His parents had time to get back on their feet financially. Baby E and his parents were reunited after 4 months. We celebrated his 1st Birthday together at Daybreak House with his parents, family, and friends.
Baby A
Victim of human trafficking, born premature and fighting for her life. Baby C was placed in our care severely underweight at the age of 2 weeks old. Baby C flourished under our holistic care approach and reached all her milestones. Today baby C is in the care of her loving foster parents.
Baby M and M
Twin babies required eye treatment due to being born prematurely at 29 weeks. Despite receiving glasses, and following a conservative approach, their eyesight didn’t improve and without intervention, their vision was deteriorating. Without treatment, they may lose the ability to read or see nearby objects.
Chas Everitt International stepped up and raised funds necessary treatment. Baby M and M are currently under treatment thanks to Chas Everitt International
As we look ahead to the future, we are filled with hope and optimism, knowing that with the continued support of our community, we can provide a safe and nurturing environment for every baby who comes through our doors.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for standing with us on this incredible journey. Together, we are making a difference, one baby at a time.
